History:

Robert Atlan was born on Mars where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Luna University in General Abstract Sciences at 20 then from Starfleet Academy. At 25, he resigned after only one year of service and seized an opportunity to work for a company developing extreme environment habitats and private-owned space stations. Traveling extensively for these 2 years, he also wrote a number of papers on a variety of subjects.

He settled eventually on Vulcan for another 3 years, reading Advanced General Studies and beginning medical studies that he moved back to the Solar System at 30 to complete. All the while he kept writing for scientific and general publications, mainly noted for being an off-stream thinker apt to raise old questions with a new twist. Pressed several times by his connections in Starfleet to resume his career, he eventually accepted at 33, changing from general medicine to neurology and psychiatry.

Robert "Bob" Atlan then finished his studies and started practicing as general physician, neurologist and counsellor. He has a rather strange habit of asking for transfers on every January 1st.


Miscellaneous:

The only people to call him Bob are family and some old acquaintances who knew him before he had decided one name was enough for him and chose to have himself called Atlan by everybody.
