General description:
Kate, due to her mixed origin has various physical traits; the vulcan pointed ears, the black eyes of a betazoid and the dark brown hair of her father. Her small frame and lacking in height often makes her seem younger.
Personality:
Kate's personality is somewhat unique, though maintaining the human and betazoid embracement of emotions, she is still vulcan and has problems with the insistance of an emotional control. Her sociability depends mostly on her mood, if upset or distressed she clouds herself in logic, in the opposite she gathers with friends but not in crowds.
Interests/hobbies:
Kate sees most outdoor activites as exhausting, barely able to stand the heat on Vulcan. Though maintaining a few frivolous pursuits on the holodeck such as Velocity and hand to hand combat she prefers reading and painting.

History:
Born in 2354 on the USS Wolf, Kate was taken to Earth for the first five years of her life. In an agreement by her parents she spent the next five years of her life on Vulcan, being taught in true logic. She found her life from 5-10 difficult, surrounded by people who shrouded emotions, which was not helped by her quarter betazoid origin.
She returned to earth at the age of 10, insistent on making the most of her time there. She soon returned to emotions and continued on with a preferable life.
Starfleet Academy was a unique endeavour for her, a mix of races and so in an attempt to fit in she took the best of her three worlds and brought them together. Relating to the three like no other.
In early 2372 she suffered an emotional outburst and collapsed while attempting to mind meld with a friend, after various neurological scans, it was determined that she was unable to mind meld, however her seldom used Betazoid telepathic abilities provided a somewhat small compensation.
The USS Tempest found its way to Kate via a recommendation from a friend, both insistent on staying with each other since primary school, she and R'Mal shared a small moment together before he was caught with a nurse. Kate left the two to their own devices and attempted to find a more tranquil life aboard the Liberty.
